Citizens' Jury Verdict on Antimicrobial Stewardship

WIHSC Director Professor Marcus Longley, accompanied by one of the jurors, has this morning presented the verdict of the Citizens’ Jury to the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group.  The Group will now advise the Welsh Government on the action to be taken.

WIHSC’s Citizens’ Jury on Antibiotic resistance comes to a conclusion today in Cardiff City Hall, after 4 days of hearing evidence from leading experts. This is the first time that a Citizens’ Jury has been asked to decide what responsibilities we all, as patients and citizens, have to conserve our remaining antibiotics.

What should we all be doing to fight antibiotic resistance? This is the question for a Citizens Jury to be held in Cardiff City Hall 5-8 July 2016. Commissioned by the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group, WIHSC is organising the Jury, consisting of 14 people randomly selected from across Wales.
