Justin is a Visiting Professor with a commercial background, and practical experience, in the delivery and creation of public and private health services. He is also a Non Executive Director with a portfolio that covers a spectrum of non health and health companies.
He graduated from Leicester University in 1975 joining Exxon Mobil as a Graduate Trainee, remaining with the world’s largest corporation for 12 years in various positions involving sales and marketing, planning, HR and public relations.
In 1987 he joined Thorn Emi in their retail/rental division moving through various senior management roles in the UK and USA.
Returning to the UK in 1992 Justin became Managing Director of 2 business service companies, part of BET plc.
One of those companies involved services to the NHS, which led to being recruited, in 1994, by Nestor Healthcare Group. He worked for 10 years, latterly as Chief Executive Officer of the Group building it into a FTSE 250 Plc and at one time the largest publicly quoted private healthcare services company. The services included Out of Hours GP deputising for 20 million of the UK population, home health and social care, telecare, disease management, secure unit primary care and the provision of all types of clinical staff to the NHS and private health providers.
Justin began a career as a Non Executive in 2002 joining the board of a privatised water company, South Staffs Water Plc, that floated a further company called Home Serve Plc, another FTSE 250 company, and the largest provider of emergency services for the home in the UK.
Since then further private sector appointments include Non Executive Directorships with NHS SBS Ltd, the largest provider of back office services in the NHS, and various other businesses involved with internet services to healthcare, home health and social care, telecare, occupational health and vaccination services and international IT consultant placement.
